My figure drawings are created in the moment; always drawn with light gestural marks that rhythmically develop into the image of the intended person. Each mark slowly builds upon the others; correcting any over-developed gradients or misinterpreted proportions until the drawing is complete. The intent of my figure drawings is not to just reproduce the likeness and weight of the bodily form, but to also to understand the expression, mood, emotion and sometimes even the narratives that the models communicate.
